OOLA CHOIR

The choir hold a weekly learning hour every Wednesdays at 8 pm in the church sacristy where new or associate members are always welcome.

Oola choir was founded in the year 2000 for the initial purpose of enhancing the liturgy of the Saturday vigil masses. . Since then the choir has grown and supports all liturgical services of the parish. Christmas and Easter are particular highlights for the church choir when we celebrate the Resurrection and birth of Jesus with much acclaimed song and music. The Christmas gathering is a cherished reunion of all choir members and parishioners where we celebrate the birth of Jesus with joyous and spiritual music together.

OOLA DEFIBRILATOR GROUP

Oola Defibrillator support group was set up in May 2013. There was a Defibrillator at the Community Centre for a number of years , but there wasn’t a contact system in place to get the Defibrillator in case of emergency. We got together as a group to formalise a rota of phone holders and first responders to attend emergency situations. We have organised a number of training sessions in using the Defib and CPR , this in conjunction with the Red Cross . The last one was in April of this year and a further 9 people were trained up . Just recently we have introduced a new system in contacting first responders .the NEW phone number is 061-953500 . This is an automated number, When you ring this number a first responder will be contacted and will get the Defibrillator. Remember you should always dial 999 first !

We now have 2 Defibrillators in the village , 1 at the community centre and 1 at the church . We always welcome new members and if you would like to join this group and learn a new skill we would be delighted .We have a Facebook page where training dates and updates on our activities and fundraising are available.

Please contact Una Hogan / Marie O Donnell / Annmarie Armshaw if you would like to join
